Introduction
nFunction Consulting is committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking do not occur in our operations or supply chains. It’s a responsibility we take very seriously. Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We believe that everyone has the right to work freely and without coercion, and we are committed to ensuring that our operations and supply chains are free from any form of modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains consistent with our disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Organizational Structure
Our supply chains include a wide range of organisations including technology providers. We understand that modern slavery can occur at any stage of the supply chain. We expect the same high standards from all our contractors, suppliers and other business partners, and as part of our contracting processes, we include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children, and we expect that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.
Policies and Procedures
We have implemented a number of policies and procedures to combat modern slavery, including:
- Code of Conduct: Our Code of Conduct outlines our commitment to ethical practices and sets expectations for our employees and suppliers.
- Risk Assessment: We conduct regular risk assessments to identify and evaluate the potential for modern slavery in our supply chain.
- Due Diligence: We perform due diligence on suppliers and business partners to ensure compliance with our standards regarding human rights.
- Training: We provide training to our employees to raise awareness of modern slavery and how to report concerns. All new employees receive policy information relating to Modern Slavery as part of their induction programme and refresher courses are provided throughout the year on request should an employee require further information on the matter.
Supplier Engagement
We work closely with our suppliers to ensure they understand our commitment to preventing modern slavery. We require all suppliers to adhere to our standards and conduct their own assessments.
Reporting Mechanisms
We have established mechanisms for reporting suspected incidents of modern slavery.
Effectiveness
The Board of Directors has overall responsibility to ensure compliance with our legal and ethical obligation. In order to assess the effectiveness of the steps we are taking; we monitor the following indicators:
- Completion of training at induction of employees.
- Reports of possible incidents of Modern Slavery.
